I tried the Naturtint Curly range on my rather thick curly hair and I was pleasantly surprised here’s what I thought about the Naturtint curly range for curly and wavy hair types.

What products are in the Naturtint Curly range?

Naturtint Curly Hair Product Range Consists of five different curly hair products for curly hair types to help manage curls and waves whilst protecting and moisturising. They take you from the cleaning and co washing stage right through to the repairing and moisturising stage. There is even finishing oil for scrunching out that crunch. These products are:

  • Naturtint’s Curl Definer Shampoo

  • Naturtint’s Curl Definer oil repair

What does it do? Nature tint say that the products have a revolutionary technology in them based on the synergistic action of amaranth seed extract and hydrolysed quinoa. This proactive treatment is then combined with a tailored blend of powerful natural ingredients for a natural finish on your hair.

The combined action of the proactive treatment and selected natural ingredients repair, protect, moisturise and nourish curly hair for naturally defined, soft curls without frizz. The Naturtint Curly range is suitable for vegan hair care, dermatologically tested and contains no sulphates, silicones, parabens or phenoxyethanol making them perfect for those who still follow strict curly girl method routines. Each product contains at least 89% ingredients of natural origin.

Naturtint’s Curl Definer Shampoo

The Naturtint’s Curl Definer Shampoo is a low-poo shampoo which is free from sulphates and harsh ingredients specifically formulated to cleanse and care for curly hair. Low-poo is a shampoos free from sulphates and is a term often used in the Curly Girl method. It contains the following ingredients;

  • Hydrolysed Wheat Protein
  • Coconut and Corn Oil Surfactants
  •  Natural Biolipids
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil

My thoughts on Naturtint’s Curl Definer Shampoo;

Now the curly girl method does not recommend shampooing but if you are not strict on this a light natural lo poo shampoo can help you from that feeling of heaviness and buildup . The main shampoo uses cleansing curly hair Approved Cleansers. The shampoo also come in a handy pump bottle which I love for in the shower.

It has a clear almost runny consistent and did not lather up much but this is due to the ingredients so I didn’t expect this too. I did two shampoos and my hair did not feel stripped or at all dry after like it does with some other lo-poo’s. After drying my hair it felt like it was lighter and plumped up and curled really well. It almost felt like I had done a detox or clarifiing wash. I really like it but I do worry as it was a runny consistency I may use too much over time.

Naturtint’s Curl Definer Co-Wash Balm

The curl definer Co Wash Balm is a co wash that cleanses the hair without shampooing. providing moisture and thus not drying the hair out. Naturtint’s Curl Definer Co-Wash Balm contains proactive treatment with the following natural ingredients;

  • Hydrolysed Wheat Protein
  • Shea Butter
  • Pracaxi Seed Oil
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil
  • Crambe Abyssinica Oil

My thoughts on Naturtint’s Curl Definer Co-Wash Balm;

The co wash was a complete surprise to me. I used this once after shampooing in the shower and once with no shampooing. Both times it detangled my hair really easily and my finger slid through my hair. Normally I still struggle to comb out tangled particularly around the nape area. But not with co wash it had a good creamy texture wity no obvious smell and I only needed two pumps from the handy dispenser.

Naturtint’s Curl Definer Leave-In Conditioner

The Leave-In conditioner specifically developed for curly hair it is said to “enhance and restore your natural curls, whilst making combing hair easier and reducing frizz” The Naturtint’s Curl Definer Leave-In Conditioner contains following natural ingredients;

  • Hydrolysed Wheat Protein
  • Jojoba, Mimosa and Sunflower Vegetable Waxes
  • VAS: Vegetable Alternative to Silicones.
  • Pracaxi Seed Oil

My thoughts on Naturtint’s Curl Definer leave in Conditioner;

The leave in curl definer. Now sometimes leave in conditioner and curl cremes are heavy and leave your curls quite limp. I always try not to use too much when it’s my first try. This curl crème however was very light in consistency with a very light smell. I used one pump for one side and one for the other. After I styled as usual before applying my gel and it was very easy to manage.

I wasn’t really sure if it would be conditioning enough as sometimes if the creams and leave-in’s are too light my hair dries out too quickly. This can leave with a dry frizz however with this crème it was light to put on and my hair felt extremely soft and manageable after and not the slightest bit weighed down.

Naturtint’s Curl Definer Hair Mask

The Curl definer mask is a rich and intense deep conditioning moisturising hair mask. This can be used to reduce frizz and leave softer with more noticeably defined curls. It contains the following natural ingredients;

  • Shea Butter
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil
  • Crambe Abyssinica Oil
  • Pracaxi Seed Oil

My thoughts on Naturtint’s Curl Definer Hair Mask;

The naturtint mask is a wonderful thick texture with no overly obvious smell. Once I’d worked out how to open it ( you have to remove the screw lid and peel the top) I used this after co washing. I didn’t leave it on too long maybe 10 minutes. Immediately after rinsing my hair felt slippery and smooth and completely tangle free. I have porous hair so it felt slightly plumper on the ends but this works for me. Due to the consistency I thought it would weigh down my hair but not all all it felt extremely light when I had finished styling.

Naturtint’s Curl Definer oil repair

The Curl definer repairing oil is formulated with natural oils. These are used to create to luminosity and shine whilst nourishing the hair;

  • Olive Oleic Acids
  • Shea Butter
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil
  • Crambe Abyssinica oil
  • Silybum Marianum Oils
  • Organic Argan Oil
  • Organic Jojoba Oil
  • Soybean, Lavender and Vetiver Oils

My thoughts on Naturtint’s Curl Definer oil;

Well what can I say! I love an oil and this one is super. It light, in a handy pump and has I very light natural smell almost orange smell. It’s perfect to scrunch in to those ends after scrunching out any crisps results from styling products.

My over all thoughts of Naturtint Curly Girl range

I was kindly invited to try the Naturtint Curly Girl range but all thoughts and opinion are my own.

For my hair which is a roughly a 3A curl the products all combined worked well for me. Use this handy guide by Naturtint to determine which products could work for you. You may find with less curly hair such as wavy hair or fine hair you do may need as much of the conditioning products. Instead a maybe just a light leave in and shampoo.

The products are priced at the top end of the market the market so can be a bit pricier if buying all a once. Saying that I have used very little product so far and a little goes along way. There are definitely keepers in this list such as the mask and oil for me but I think using the prouducts together really compliments your hair.
