You are good enough! Enjoy the little things, do what you love.
This weekend I felt inspired at Blogtacular which is an amazing seminar for people to meet share and inspire. It was one of the most creative blogging events I have attended. Amazing speeches to help you find your creative side and enhance your blog. Learning how to write from the Heart, take photos and make video films. It filled me with so much inspiration I am sad that Blogtacular happens only once a year.
I had a few things that I was hung up on before I went to Blogtacular. I was frustrated by the sheer amount of time envolved in sharing, tweeting and working across several social platforms. It actually was making me anxious. What is my niche? What is my brand? Who are my followers? Writers block and vlogging also stumped me.
With Keynote speakers such as blogger, writer and podcaster Emma Gannon who wrote the book ‘ CTRL ALT DELETE: How I grew up online’, and Natalie Lue author, blogger and podcaster at Baggage reclaim You knew it was going to be a positive experience.
We had an amazing video tutorial with Xanthe Berkeley who inspired me to actually just do it! These were only a few and I really can’t do them justice by how great they all were. It was not long before I was totally inspired and some of my questions were answered.
We started the day before on a photo walk in Shoreditch, taking amazing pictures of great street art.
The night before we were at West Elm the modern furniture and interiors shop in London. We enjoyed drinks and unicorn smoothies whilst chatting amongst contemporary bright original decor.
Then on to a full on packed day with guest speakers covering a range of topics from story telling on Instagram to creative business master classes.
I rarely post pictures of myself but whilst we were attending the amazing Blogtacular event we went past this fabulous wall in Fitzrovia and it needed a photo. I finally feel like I can be myself and Build my Brand. My Niche is me! its the 40 something mum with a hundred and one jobs to do, Creative dreams running around inside my head and a love for black and white furry dogs.
Tips for Blogging
Best bits learnt this weekend are :
Enjoy the little things, do what you love.
Your blog is your brand!
You are your niche! It’s likely that your readers are like you.
If you don’t like it do not do it!
Scared of doing something and don’t know where to start? Just start!
You are amazing and do not let anyone tell you differently.
Engage, share posts and be real.
It is a job, step away from the computer give yourself a break.
And at the end of the day my blog is about me and my family. It’s about sharing and remembering what we have done.
I created this video with the help of the fabulous Xanthe Berkley, I just wish I knew more about filming before the session as my vid is a tad cheesy But I have started. I now can not wait to go and create more.
So without further a do here is a few insights in to our weekend at Blogtacular.
