Heres The Blurb
“A gripping tale of secrets and lies remembered long after the last page.” – Amanda James, author of Behind the Lie.
Doctor Abby Fenton has a rewarding career, a loving family, an enviable lifestyle – and a secret that could destroy everything.
When human remains are discovered in the grounds of an idyllic Tuscan holiday home she is forced to confront the memories she has suppressed until now and relive the summer she spent at the villa in 1992. A summer that ended in tragedy. The nearer she gets to the truth the closer she comes to losing her sanity.
In order to hold onto the people she loves most, she must make sure they never discover what she did. But the reappearance of someone else from that summer threatens to blow her secret wide open.
My Review
I loved reading this book from the word go, Katherine’s sheer enthusiasm for writing is very clear in her words. Her love of Italy is also seen in her elaborate descriptions of the scenes which I found enchanting.
Written in the present day with flash backs to 1992 it took me back to my teenage years. Abby the main character is an exuberant teen who goes on holiday to Italy with her uncle after her mother passes away.
In real time Abby is a successful doctor married with two daughters. You can Imagine the horror she feels as it all resurfaces. All of the secrets she tried to forget, you see Abby change and start to panic and tries desperately to keep her secrets hidden.
With a few twists and turns along the way it will keep you on your toes. Who’s remains were found? How did they die? Just what exactly happened on that holiday? A great mixture of characters some of whom you might not like.
I found Katharines disscriptive manner in which she writes easy and fast paced to read. A perfect psychological thriller and great to pop in your case for a holiday.
