Our house is finished with the renovation and have painted it as a blank canvas, in different shades of grey. Now we are comfortable it is time to update each room with a splash of colour.

I love Navy and Grey so a deep blue seemed to be the obvious choice. When we designed the house we wanted to keep things clean and simple with deep white skirting and Art Deco style cornice. To add some warmth we opted for wood flooring and staircases.

For the staircase we chose real oak with wrought iron spindles. For the floor we needed something a little more robust and opted for Amtico flooring in traditional oak which exactly matches our staircase.

Farrow and Ball’s Stiff key blue was out choice of colour, a wash of deepest blue which makes the staircase stand out.

I love colour! I also love accessories. Cushions, candles, vases and picture frames easily inject interest and colour in to the home. I am a big lover of candles especially large jar candles such a Yankee. They sit on the side in matching or contrasting colours and smell devine. You can even have fragrances that match the seasons. This is ideal for a re-vamping your Hallway as you get a burst of aroma as soon as you open the door.

We love to adorn our walls with pictures and Adam Barsby is one of our favourite artists. We had a painting commissioned for our hall with the boys and our three dogs in. It takes pride of place on our staircase.
