If you want to find something a little bit different with flavours that explode in your mouth look no further than Cinnamon Bazaar, Maiden Lane’s Fine Indian Food. Cinnamon bazaar is situated in the heart of Covent Garden and is part of the cinnamon collection of restaurants. Cinnamon bazaar is described as all day dining which mixes real heritage with urban London.
Cinnamon is inspired by all of the bazaars across India, the places of bustling communities selling, exchanging goods, exploring new flavours entertaining friends.
The first thing that strikes you is the wonderful decor, the bold coloured drapes and hanging baskets bringing the outside in.
Experience a range of exciting small plates and dishes such as Samosa Chaat, Crab Bonda and Sesame honey chilli potatoes. Mix a variety of main small plate dishes to find the perfect meal experience. The variety of small chaats is great, each one with an unusual ingredient and a pleasant but not overpowering spice.
The samosas are to die for on a bed of spices, chickpeas, raita and then sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, it’s simply mouth watering.
It’s so lovely to try something new and experience something different. the kids even love the spices and try all of the dishes.
A must try is the double cooked belly of pork, Koorg style with curried yogurt. The sweet spices are mouthwatering we simply have to have this at every time we visit.
Another of my favourites is the black daal with its smooth and glossy texture it’s perfect to mix in with a biryani or dip a Naan bread into.
The sesame honey chilli and garlic potatoes are a work of art in themselves , a total piece of genius. Spicy yet sweet at the same time.
There is also an exciting and extensive drinks list and cocktails devised by Mr Lyan with ingredients such as burnt cinnamon and Masala coke.
Finally finish off with a Pistachio Kulfi or some palette cleansing sorbet. What could be any better.
You can book cinnamon Bazaar online and by phone, it’s definitely worth a visit. Get there quick before everyone finds it! I hope you enjoyed my review of Cinnamon Bazaar, Maiden Lane’s Fine Indian Food.
