Barrafina Spanish Tapas in London
The first thing I noticed about Barrafina is that it is permanently busy this is always a good sign. Is Barrafina the only Spanish Tapas in London? Im sure it’s not? but it definitely is a fine example of the one of best. This is my review of Barrafina Spanish Tapas in London.

Walk in the doors at barrafina and there may not be a space but you may queue a few minutes for one until one becomes available. Dont be put off by the queue Barrfina is worth the wait However I would recommend getting there for the first sitting when they open for tea or lunch.
The second thing I noticed about the restaurant was the complete buzz, it’s like a hive of chatter, plates clashing and chefs calling out. Do not let that put you off its still relaxing and great to watch.
Hop up to the bar hang your bag and coat on the hook provided and prepare for an interesting feast.
Barrafina always have daily specials which make for an interesting change. Be Prepared to experiment and try something different. The Waiter will talk you through the specials board before hand and may recommend you something to try.
Try anything from Pigs nose, octopus and sweet breads if you dare.
I can thoroughly recommend the stuffed artichoke hearts filled with amazing goats cheese which are then drizzled in honey that has been gently caramelised.
The sweet and salty date bonbons that were wrapped in bacon from the specials menu were delicious.
The staff are really friendly and warming and recognise you if you go again. We tried so many things I possibly wouldn’t normally try.
We had cuttlefish croquettes and Delicious pork belly as well as many varieties I could not even pronounce. Each dish as good as the last, Remember this is a Tapas restaurant and the portion size represents this.
For something a little simpler try the fries and Ali oli, you can not go wrong.
There is an extensive wine list and the Rosé Cava is absolutely devine one of the best I have had outside of spain.
To sit and relax and watch the buzz of the restaurant is definitely one of the best things about this place.
Everything is cooked fresh, One cooks another finishes and dresses and another person serves. To watch the restaurant working is so much fun and a real conversation boost.
With three restaurants in and around the west end you can be sure to find one you love. We tend to visit the one in Drury lane but I expect the others are just as good.
Please note Barrafina do not take reservations.
