I am starting off the tour in London, when you have already explored the well known parts of the City why not try and find something a bit different. There are many places in London that are not as well known as the the bigger London icons. London is a big place and there is so much to do in London for kids including lots of free things to do in London with kids. You can also explore different areas of London such as Covent garden and Soho. You could aways visit London at Christmas and with kids of even go ice-skating in London. So here are 10 Alternative Things to do in London to get you started.

The Jack the Ripper museum is tucked away in an old town house in Cable street London. This fascinating museum recreates the scenes of the crimes from the murders in 1888
2. The Bank of England Museum is a great place in the city of london, Find out all about the history of money the bank and our economy in this free museum in the City.
3. Dennis Severs House is a unique experience like no other at 18 folgate street, spitalfields London. A time capsule home belonging to a family of Huguenot silk weavers set in 1724. Enter this house as if you have passed through the surface of a painting.
Learn about architecture
4. Sir John Soanes Museum is a historic house belonging to the 19th century architect Sir John Soane. At soanes request the house had been left untouched since his death almost 180 years ago.
Who would of thought?
5. Blink and you will miss it, Britains Smallest police station is in Trafalger square and has not been used since the 1930’s. However the most original small police station was actually the Wellington Arch!
On the buses
6. Hop on and off trams and buses at The London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. Learn about the history of the underground and transport in London including during the war. Kids go free and tickets allow unlimited entry for 12 months.
Revisit your childhood
7. The V and A Museum of Childhood Is one of my favourite museums, the museum houses the UK’s national collection of childhood related objects. You will find ornate dolls houses, rocking horses and toys from every decade.
Read a book
8. The Charles Dickens Museum is in Charles Dickens former home at 48 Doughty street. See where Charles wrote his books and entertained guests in his only surviving London house.
See the city
9. The monument is an interesting visit in the city, walk up 311 steps to panoramic views of the City. The Monument was built to commorate the great fire of London and celebrates the rebuilding of London.
Ride the Mail train
10. The Mail Rail and The Postal Museum and Railway make for an interesting day out. You can ride through the hidden tunnels and discover and explore the history of The Royal Mail. There is an interactive exhibition and an amazing play zone for younger children making it a great day for all.
