Fast Forward! a look at the last two weeks in London.

So this weeks word of week is fast forward, as it appears I’ve actually missed a week. The world has buzzed past in a blur and I’m sure I have missed something!

It actually got me thinking where has my life disappeared to? It’s quite frightening that it goes to fast.

Only on Friday night I was sitting in doors getting ready to go out on a girls night out. It was quiet, no children, no husband just the two furry four legged friends lounging around.

I would of loved this a few years ago a glass of wine in one hand lipstick in the other, a warm bubble bath and a quick catch up on my book. But this week was different I miss the small toys normally found randomly all over the house. The loud voices and Tv blaring, the running around half dressed with one heel on the other foot standing on lego while I wipe a snotty nose or escort small child to the toilet.

It’s really funny the things you miss and think you will be doing forever.

I think this week has passed me by so quickly, I’m beginning to see a theme here now. When Harry has a show week all normal routine , blogging and housework go out of the window. We do however have a lovely time. So here is some the things we have been doing over the past two weeks.

Our first week started Saturday with the most amazing lunch on a south London veuve cliquot gourmet oddysey.

Sunday we took a quiet approach and attended a vintage fair over at Orsett Hall where we saw some beautiful old vintage cars as well. We grabbed a couple of pumpkins at Barley Lands and had a nice stroll in the woods.

Back to london again where I thought I would take a Canal boat ride from Camden down to Little Venice. (Blog post to come), it was really beautiful and lovely thing to see parts of London you wouldn’t normally see.

The boat went past London Zoo which was funnily the day the Gorilla escaped in to the keepers enclosure!

With so many nights again in London I have many photos to share, time to make a collage for the all the good ones I think.

These past two weeks we have seen many shows too, Justin Bieber last friday being one of them. Harry loved the concert at the O2, myself and my friend Sue felt maybe it was not for us!

Christmas is not that far away, so a quick trip on sunday to Summerhill Garden centre  is always in order this time of year! It really is the most beautiful garden centre especially well known for their fantastic Christmas displays.

Sunday was the 25th anniversary of Miss Saigon, So Hubby and I  hopped off to see the show on the cinema screens at Vue. I cried all of the way through, love the music and the storyline, even though it is so sad. This has to be one of my all time favourite musicals.

So just incase we didn’t have enough cultural entertainment this week Harry and I went to see Les Miserables in Shaftesbury avenue. Harry’s Friend plays the part of Gavroche, so we were delighted to see the show with our little star in it. Harry wasn’t sure he would like it, but he did and said it was far better than he thought. I cried throughout most of this too!

Again back to london! I have actually forgoton just how many cocktails I have consumed in these past two weeks, They have all blended in to one ( lucky for some I hear you say!) It was London cocktail week and still is the London restaurant festival, so we were spoilt for choice.

Mr Foggs Gin parlour was one imparticular that was unforgettable, set in the victorian era you are transported back in time with some delightful cocktails to choose from in a quirky vintage setting.

Whilst we were out Dolly has managed to eat 4 bras, One bare  minerals serum, one stuffed toy and any food Owen left lying around. So back to walking the dogs to wear them out now I think.

As part of the London restaurant festival we have visited two Restaurants for there taste of set menus. The First was Hakkasan in Hanway place, with its amazing cocktails and Cantonese food.

And the second was Aqua Kyoto for some Beautiful Japanese food cooked in an open kitchen in the heart of the westend.

To finish the second week in style we bought some tickets from the TKTS booth in leicester square to see The Bodyguard. I had seen this previously at the cliffs  and loved it, But to see it in London with the amazing Beverly knight was a real treat, The third show I cried through!

  2. Wow, what a whirlwind of the last two weeks. It’s funny how we miss things when they’re gone and maybe take them for granted whilst they’re here!

  3. I’m completely exhausted reading this, you have fit so much in! No wonder you lost a week. I adore Les Miserables, and yes, cry every time. Dolly seems to have been a bit greedy?! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  4. Wow I am exhausted reading your past fortnight. I am seriously jealous that you got the chance to go to that many shows in London. In the summer I went to my very first west end show, Horrible Histories. Next time I have vowed it will be a more grown up show (preferably without the kids on a grown up visit to London). Oh dear little Dolly, how an earth did she get through 4 bras. Have a great week x
