But first Let me take a Disney selfie

Getting the kids involved in pictures by taking a Disney selfie!

Teenage Kids Hate photo’s? This is how I encouraged my two to Disney selfie this year at disney. We had the marvellous Disney Memory Maker package added to our tickets which enables you to download all of your photos taken with Characters and photographers throughout the parks and resorts.

When the children were young they loved having their pictures with characters, in fact it was the hi light for all of us. Now as an older boy and teenager they have hit the “mum no photo’s ” stage.

So needless to say I was worried we would not get our full fill of character pictures.

We just so happened to be away with friends, so being led by the teenage girls who absolutely loved a photo opportunity,  we eventually got them in for some pics! Our first one being the wookie Chewbacca at Disneys Hollywood Studios.

Once they realised that even Starwars characters would pose for selfies they were well away.

Olaf didn’t escape either!

What made it even better was the fact the Cast photographer took photos of them doing it. Which was good seeing as most of their selfies disappeared with their Snapchat.

Disney Selfie with Goofy

I just love the Grin on their faces it was certainly magic.

Once we had them in the door they were hooked even posing alongside Mickey and Minnie themselves.

I even caught the selfie bug! how could I not?

To be honest once they had got over the “I’m too old for this” they really enjoyed it. Owen even got in to some serious talks with Alice in Wonderland.

Ok so maybe he’s not too cool for Alice?

The hi lite was getting to meet the Frozen Princesses. I had never met a Disney Princess before, so this was a first for me. I did not think I would be able to coax my two boys in for pictures with Elsa and Anna, but they had caught the buzz!

And my bucket list was ticked.

Harry even became a budding Photographer.

I needn’t of worried about the boys, The magic really took over. Needless to say my Memory Maker photos filled up in no time. Amazing memories to keep forever and evidence that Disney really is Cool no matter what your age is!

So next time you are lining up for a photo at Disney remember to say, ” But first Let me take a Disney selfie ”

  1. Aw I love this post, and I shall remember this if we ever return with our teen and tween. It used to be so easy getting them to pose with characters and Princesses, but I fear if we go back it will just be me and Mickey lol. Who would have thought the selfie would do the trick though. Love the pictures at the end with Anna and Elsa x

    1. I know I had visions of queuing up by myself! Even my husband at first wasn’t very enthusiastic. So pleased we got to meet Anna and Elsa. x

  2. I’m not so sure it was just Alice he was interested in lol. My kids hate me taking their photos and i always demand an airport selfie before they fly home after a visit #mondayescapes
