It really was as idyllic then as it now however much smaller, consisting of just the Caribbean and French villages. It had 7 restaurants and plenty of children’s entertainment with free water sports back then as well, which was partly why we chose it.

Today it boasts 20 restaurants, 6 pools, an amazing array of kids activities including a pirate island water park. Free water-sports including scuba diving plus a Spa and lots more.

We have experienced the holiday from all perspectives, toddlers, children and young teens , I personally feel this year will be a very different holiday with having a much more Independent teen soon turning 16!

The Scuba diving is great and the safest we have ever experienced , you can do your PADI certificate diving course there on thier resort diving program. Our Son did his first Dives here when he was 10 and he loved it!

The Sesame Street bunch are great and Harry really enjoyed his time doing all the activities they had to offer, including the parades in the evening. All of the staff at beaches are fantastic especially with the kids. Our youngest one loved the stage and dancing by the pool during the day , within days everyone knew his name.

There are many pools to choose from and each pool is different with different activities to choose. We tended to like the French Village pool because it was quieter with lots of space, comfy beds, and music games in the afternoon. We found the Italian village a little more busy a good atmosphere ( the kids preferred this!) All of them have swim up bars and plenty of beds.

Staying at the resort there are various room types and you can choose from 4 different villages, Caribbean Italian, French and the Key west Village. There are also a choice of double rooms, suites, concierge service and butlers!

We have always stayed in the Caribbean , it feels more like an Oasis of calm and it’s close to the beach.

Restaurants where do I start? Idyllic Schooners on the beach for a lobster risotto or kimonos where they cook it right at your table. You can find Italian , French, Mexican, to good old mushy peas in the pub! My personal favourite is eggs Benedict for breakfast on the beach at barefoot (shhh don’t tell anyone i want to reserve my spot!)

Sometimes we would feed the kids at one of the buffet restaurants or go to Bobby Dee’s and let them have a meal so we could have a cheeky meal on our own after.

So my ideal day at beaches would be

Get up and head to barefoot for a relaxing breakfast to start the day, see the boys of for their dive trip and spend the morning laying on the beach watching the pelicans, take my time over lunch in Arizona’s with a Mexican salad. Then wander down to the french pool to watch the kids join in with the games ( I do my best not to have to assist!)

Cannot forget the cocktails! Which will in turn leave me needing a doze, The evening take a nice meal in schooners or the Sky restaurant on the roof then catch some entertainment.

  2. This really does sound an amazing and idyllic place, but also has lots of activities for kids as well. I can’t wait to read your review of your latest trip. I think I would combine it with a trip to Disney (like I think you did in the summer) and then spend a week relaxing at Beaches #MondayEscapes x

  3. This resort sounds incredible! Lots to do for families too. I look forward to reading your post and hearing all about your second visit! I have visited Sandals resorts before, owned by the same company, but never tried a Beaches resort. They look amazing though! Thanks for linking up to #MondayEscapes
